Review of Event

The fourth in PILA's seminar series was held on 13 May 2011. The seminar theme was: "Using the ECHR: Where are we now?". The respective speakers reviewed Irish and British experiences of using the European Convention on Human Rights.

Speaker Biographies

Dr Fiona de Londras is a member of faculty in UCD School of Law. She is co-author of European Convention on Human Rights Act: Operation, Impact and Analysis (2010, Round Hall). Fiona founded Human Rights in Ireland www.humanrights.ie. Fiona's work has been published in leading international journals including the Modern Law Review and Oxford Journal of Legal Studies. Brian Kennelly is a barrister at the leading public law and human rights set Blackstone Chambers in London. He is co-author of Human Rights Law and Practice (Lester & Pannick). Brian has extensive experience and is called a "star performer" by the Legal 500. He has appeared before domestic courts, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice.
