Social Media and Marketing Intern, Immigrant Council of Ireland – Deadline 3 April

Do you have the skills, innovation and motivation to use social media to advance some of the most important human rights issues in Ireland today?

The Immigrant Council of Ireland (ICI) is looking for an enthusiastic intern to join its communications team and take its website, Facebook and Twitter presence to the next level and put the ICI at the cutting edge of new digital platforms as they emerge. 

You have will have strong social skills coupled with a passion for the opportunities presented by new media to increase awareness, contribute to a national debate and drive policy.

Whether it is an anti-racism campaign, combating human trafficking or the complexities of the immigration system you will help formulate a message and ensure that it is delivered across all new media platforms.

This paid internship is suitable for someone with a proven track record in on-line media, in particular in the area of political or rights campaigning. 

Duties:

To implement all aspects of the social media and digital marketing strategy including:

  • Design and implement online campaigns for major human rights issues, via Facebook, Twitter and the ICI website;
  • Acquiring new followers, supporters and fans of ICI;
  • Increasing the reach of ICI messages; and
  • Ensure user-friendly website.

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills ;
  • Exceptional IT skills;
  • Good presentation skills;
  • Ability to work well and contribute to a team as well as ability to work on own initiative ;
  • App development experience an advantage; and
  • Qualification in communications, journalism or business an advantage.
