Northside Community Law and Mediation Centre (NCLMC) is an independent, community-based organisation that works to empower individuals experiencing disadvantage by providing free legal, mediation and information services.
At a national level, we seek to have a wider impact through our campaigns for law reform and by acting as a resource for other advocacy organisations.
Their services range from free legal advice clinics and law reform work to strategic public interest litigation e.g. McCann v Monaghan District Court and Ors (2009) where s6 of the Enforcement of Court Orders Act 1940 allowing a debtor to be imprisoned over failure to pay a debt was declared unconstitutional.
NCLMC is seeking to recruit a Trainee Solicitor to commence on 1 July 2014. The Trainee will gain excellent practical experience in a wide variety of areas including family, housing, employment, equality, community care, social welfare and debt law.
The role will suit a confident self starter with excellent communication and IT skills. They seek applications specifically from candidates who have a genuine interest in public interest law, can demonstrate consistent academic excellence and are highly motivated and ambitious team players.
