TRALIM: Training for Lawyers on European Asylum and Immigration Law – October 2016-April 2017

TRALIM is an EU co-funded project which aims to provide training to qualified lawyers in European law relating to asylum and immigration. The project will provide training to lawyers from five countries (Spain, Italy, Greece, Ireland and Poland) over four seminars held in different countries between October 2016 and April 2017.

The initiative is aimed at lawyers who may be may be interested in providing legal support in 'hotspots' and refugee camps, or who may be confronted with legal questions relating to asylum and immigration in the course of their profession.

Five complimentary places, covering flights, seminar fee and two nights’ accommodation, have been made available for the Irish delegation. Practising solicitors with at least three years of post-qualification experience in asylum or immigration law are eligible to apply. It is envisioned that these solicitors will subsequently work will the professional training team, disseminating the knowledge they will acquire during the seminar to lawyers in Ireland.

Applications, including an up-to-date CV demonstrating eligibility to participate in the seminar should be submitted to lspt@lawsociety.ie by 5pm on 31st August.
