The Department of Foreign Affairs are recruiting high calibre graduates for the development stream of the Irish foreign service.
Successful applicants will work in the Department of Foreign Affairs, including in embassies and other offices abroad, in provision of policy, implementation and technical support to the Government’s international development programme contributing to the delivery of Ireland’s wider foreign policy objectives. The position offers the opportunity to work as part of a highly motivated and skilled team, in a range of disciplines of relevance to the policy objectives of Ireland’s international development programme.
Development Specialist Officers are required to have a deep appreciation for and have an ability to respond, strategically and operationally under direction, to the complex and evolving environment within which Ireland’s international development programme is situated, both at home and abroad.
During a career with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Development Specialist Officers will work at headquarters in Dublin or Limerick, as well as at a number of the Irish embassies and other offices abroad.
Applicants must, on or before the closing date of Thursday, 9th February 2023, hold a first or second class honours degree (minimum of Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications) in a discipline relevant to Ireland’s international development programme.
All candidates must be Irish citizens at time of application.
