PILnet is seeking a remote GRF Comms Intern – deadline 30th August

ABOUT PILNET

 

PILnet partners with legal professionals and civil society organizations (CSOs) globally to protect civic space, address global challenges, and work to build just, equitable and sustainable societies. PILnet does this by supporting civil society, engaging legal professionals and nurturing the next generation of legal professionals in three strategic priority areas: civic space, climate justice and refugees and people on the move. PILnet currently has offices in New York, Budapest and Hong Kong.

                                                                      

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working remotely and based in Europe/Africa time zones (from UTC to UTC+6) and reporting to the Global Project Coordinator – Forced Displacement, the intern will work alongside the Communications and Development staff to support the forced displacement team in crafting and implementing the external communications ahead of the Global Refugee Forum (GRF) 2023. In particular, the intern will work to create interest in the next GRF pledge and help raise funding for the implementation of the pledge.

 

The internship responsibilities, under the guidance of the staff, include:

 

Drafting, designing, and editing mass email campaigns, social media campaigns, newsletters, and other external communications relating to the GRF 2023;

Identifying stakeholders to target through online campaigns for the mobilization of the next GRF Pledge;

Identifying, recommending, and implementing updates to the website;

Organizing how online GRF pledge resources are presented throughout the website;

Creating event and project web-pages;

Supporting data entry and management;

Other tasks as requested by the Coordinator.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Current graduate student or recent graduates in public administration, global affairs, international relations, communications, marketing or related field;

Some current work experience in communications, nonprofit experience is a plus;

Passion for social justice or human rights. Knowledge or experience of working with refugees/displaced persons is an advantage;

Strong written and verbal communication skills;

Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Ads, CiviCRM is a plus

The duration of the internship should ideally be 3-6 months, a minimum of 15 hours per week, work hours are flexible. This position will not be remunerated, you will be part of a dynamic and dedicated team, working towards positive change and creating a more inclusive world for all. As an intern with us, you will gain valuable hands-on experience, utilizing your communication skills to promote and support a global human rights and access to justice initiative. Your contributions will play a crucial role in advancing the cause of refugees and other displaced people, empowering them to access their rights and find solutions.
