Forsa: Assistant General Secretary – deadline Friday February 15th

Fórsa is recruiting experienced, adaptable, and innovative people to create a panel for a number of permanent Assistant General Secretary appointments

With over 85,000 members, Fórsa is Ireland’s largest trade union voice in the civil and public service. Fórsa is a union that supports and exceeds the current and future needs of our members and sets an example for the future of trade unions.

We are now looking for experienced, adaptable, and innovative people to create a panel for a number of permanent Assistant General Secretary appointments.

As a senior member of the organisation, an Assistant General Secretary provides both strategic leadership and delivery of services to the branches and members within their assigned area; works closely with branches, members, and dedicated and dynamic colleagues to provide a broad range of trade union services; and contributes to (or leads) union-wide projects and initiatives.

Fórsa welcomes both internal and external applicants from diverse backgrounds, including diverse professional experience (including the public, private, and non-profit sectors). A demonstrated commitment to the values of social justice, a strong public service, and workers’ empowerment is essential.

As an employer, we are committed to modelling the values of our union: in addition to a competitive salary (the range for this role is €75,350 to €99,581) we provide excellent benefits and opportunities for professional development, and education.

Fórsa does not discriminate on the basis of gender, marital or family status, age, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, or membership in the Traveller community.
