INTERIGHTS seeks lawyer for their Europe Programme (maternity cover) for 10 - 12 months dependent on start date. The Europe Lawyer will be responsible for developing and implementing INTERIGHTS' programme of work in the Europe region, with particular focus on the South Caucasus region, in order to advance the legal protection of international human rights through strategic litigation before national and international human rights courts.
The role is also responsible for supporting fundraising and publications by providing information on activities and achievements for use in donor reports and publications, monitoring a budget and expenditure and taking an active role in the annual planning and budgeting processes.
The successful candidate will have substantial litigation experience using the European Convention on Human Rights, good experience of working in the human rights sector and of litigating human rights cases in a jurisdiction in South Eastern, Central or Eastern Europe or the former Soviet Union. Excellent communication skills including written and spoken English are essential. International travel will be required.
