IHRC/Law Society of Ireland Annual Human Rights Conference 20 November 2010

The Irish Human Rights Commission (IHRC) and the Law Society of Ireland have pleasure in inviting you to the 8th Annual Human Rights Conference entitled Emerging Human Rights Issues.


The keynote speaker is Professor Michael O'Flaherty, Member of the UN Human Rights Committee. Other speakers will include Ms. Lydia Foy, Ms. Grainne Healy, Ms. Muriel Walls, Mr. Billy Hawkes, Ms. Suzanne Kingston, Mr. T.J. McIntyre, Ms. Siobhan O'Donoghue, Ms. Elizabeth Mitrow, Ms. Deborah Spence, and Mr. Alan Miller.


Our annual conference has become a key event in the Irish legal calendar, and we have been fortunate over past years to attract a high calibre of both national and international speakers, including members of the Irish Judiciary. This year the conference will examine emerging human rights issues, with a focus on human rights and the Environment, Business, Data Protection, Immigration, and Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Rights. The conference will bring together legal practitioners, including members of the judiciary, the Bar and the Law Society as well as academics, statutory bodies and human rights organisations to explore these issues.
