The Irish Penal Reform Trust ("IPRT") has launched its first Legal Bulletin, which is aimed at solicitors and barristers working in the area of prison law and related areas. The IPRT envisages that its Legal Bulletin, produced on a quarterly basis, will be a source of prison-related case-law, identifying potential areas and issues for litigation and supporting lawyers already engaged in penal litigation. The bulletin will provide summaries of significant cases dealing with prison conditions such as overcrowding, slopping out, regimes, healthcare, segregation, etc as well as sentencing matters.
