Development Officer - PILS Project - deadline 13 April

The PILS Project seeks a full time Development Officer.

The PILS Project is an independent organisation which seeks to advance human rights and equality in Northern Ireland through the use of and support for public interest litigation.

The post-holder will be responsible for establishing and working closely with interested organisations both individually and through a Stakeholder Forum to advise them on the potential of the PILS Project helping them with their objectives; monitoring relevant case-law; sharing information particularly on policy and legal initiatives short of litigation; and acting as a conduit to the Project Manager and Solicitor for possible litigation efforts.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in law or a relevant social science degree or equivalent, two years’ experience of project implementation, experience of policy dissemination and event organisation as well as running campaigns and awareness raising programmes and a commitment to the promotion of human rights.

This is a 2 year fixed term position and the starting salary is SO1, Pt. 30 £25,742 + 8% pension.
