Mercy Law Resource Centre - First Annual Report Published

The Mercy Law Resource Centre is a Dublin based non-profit organisation which provides free legal advice and representation to persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the areas of social housing and social welfare law. They have now published their first annual report.

The report details the progress they have made in the provision of their services, including an increase in the number of advice clinics and the large numbers of clients they have assisted with free legal representation. The report also notes that there is continuing increase in demand for their services – for example,numbers of advice queries increased by 120% in 2011. The report further notes the policy work of the organisation and the papers that have been produced on a wide range of topics from the Criminal Justice Bill 2010 to the Local Authority Anti-Social Behaviour Strategies.
