New Independent Law Centre for Children, Director - deadline 29 June

The establishment of an independent Law Centre for children and young people in the Republic of Ireland has been under exploration for some time. The initiative has considerable support from legal practitioners, academics, NGOs in the children and legal sectors, and highly regarded children’s rights advocates. In 2012, a steering committee secured funding to establish such a Centre and to fund its operation for its first two years. The Centre is likely to be based in Dublin.

The Centre now seeks a Director. The Director will be a qualified solicitor with relevant experience of and expertise in the law relating to children, as well as capacities to collaborate with relevant stakeholders and to secure sustainable resources for the Centre. He or she will also have excellent management, administrative and leadership skills.

For further information, please contact Larry Donnelly, PILA Manager, at 01 8728048 or larry.donnelly@flac.ie.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 5:00 PM, 29 June 2012. Applicants must submit 1) a completed application form, 2) a current curriculum vitae and 3) a brief covering letter. These should be emailed to recruitment@flac.ie.
