Director, Northside Community Law and Mediation Centre

The Board of Northside Law and Mediation Centre wish to recruit a Director who will have overall responsibility for managing the operation of the Organisation in order to fulfil its purpose and objectives.

Role:
This is a challenging and strategic role with responsibility for a team of 15 staff and 200 volunteers. The successful candidate will lead the organisation, determine and formulate policies and objectives; providing overall direction for the Organisation together with the Board of Directors.

Person Profile:

  • In depth understanding of the role of public interest law and principle of access to justice together with an understanding of the role of alternative dispute resolution centres.
  • Experience of leading at a senior management level in a community, governmental, civic  or related organisation;
  • Capability to deliver and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders in a local and national context, including relevant government departments;
  • Capacity to clearly articulate the case for Northside Community Law and Mediation Centre to seek and secure long term sustainable resources for the Centre from mainly non-statutory sources of funding and to raise the profile of the Centre.
  • Capacity to undertake all necessary management and administrative tasks including management of staff and to report to the Board of Directors and funders in relation to progress towards clearly defined outcomes.
  • Professional qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister;
  • Excellent communication and networking skills;
  • Visionary with a pragmatic approach;
  • Leadership and social entrepreneurial initiative.

Solicitor, Limerick Community Law and Mediation Service

The Board of Northside Community Law and Mediation Centre wish to recruit a Solicitor for Limerick Community Law and Mediation Service who will deliver and develop a community law and mediation service based in Limerick City. 

Role:
The Solicitor will be employed to develop legal information, advice, advocacy, representation and community education services in the regeneration communities in Limerick city. The solicitor will also be required to develop mediation and conflict resolution services.
