Two Senior Legal Advisors, Amnesty International London– Deadline 16 July

Amnesty International is seeking two Senior Legal Advisors to focus on the development of policy and strategies for the advancement of international law, including through the strategic use of human rights bodies and procedures, litigation in international, regional, and national tribunals, and standard-setting initiatives within the United Nations system and regional bodies, in order to advance AI priorities and contribute to the progressive development of international law.

As Senior Legal Advisor you will lead and develop the work of Amnesty International (AI) on international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and international criminal law, including by overseeing legal guidance and review, legal standard-setting initiatives, and litigation. This Senior Legal Advisor post is part of the Law and Policy Programme's management team, and oversees the work of legal advisors, including the timely delivery of analysis of international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and international criminal law and legal advice on the implementation of international law at the national level, in order to ensure that AI strategies and public documents are of the highest quality and advance progressive interpretations of international law and standards.
