FLAC Economic, Social & Cultural Rights Shadow Report – Consultations in Galway, Cork & Dublin - May

FLAC will prepare a Shadow Report on the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights over the coming months to help influence the list of human rights issues for consideration by the UN Committee and the questions to be raised with the Government in advance of its examination. To inform the Shadow Report FLAC welcomes the experiences and input of NGO’s, community development organisation and interested individuals on issues such as the housing, social security, workers’ rights, employment, protection of families and cultural life.

Further consultations will be held on Wednesday 21 May on two cross-cutting themes: the right to housing and the right to social security. These thematic consultations are taking place in the Franciscan Friary, Merchant’s Quay, with the morning session (11am-1pm) concentrating on the right to housing and in the afternoon session (2-4pm) we will concentrate on the right to social security.
