Legal Officer - Irish Refugee Council's Independent law Centre - Dublin, Deadline 10 June

The IRC is recruiting a legal officer with the expertise, skills and experience to work as an integral part of our Law Centre team. The Irish Refugee Council’s Independent Law Centre offers legal services to those in need of international protection.

The Law Centre is the legal services division of the Irish Refugee Council (IRC), a registered charity. We provide early legal advice and representation to those in the initial stages of the asylum process. In doing so, we aim to demonstrate a different model of legal representation for asylum seekers in Ireland. We also provide advice and representation to vulnerable asylum seekers and persons in receipt of international protection in Ireland who have no alternate access to legal representation.

The Law Centre is the legal services division of the Irish Refugee Council (IRC), a registered charity. The Law Centre is staffed by a small, dedicated team, comprising two solicitors and two legal officers. The legal officer will primarily assist the solicitors in the provision of our Early Legal Representation service. The legal officer will also be asked to contribute to legal research and policy work being undertaken by the Law Centre.

Location: Dublin

Hours: 28 Hours (four day week)

Duration: 1 year

Salary: €24 - €32 K based on a four day week (i.e., €30-40K pro rata)
