NASC Ireland: ‘Walk in their Shoes’ Silent Solidarity Walk – 19 June, Cork

Date:                     16 June 2016

Time:                    3 pm

Venue:                 Gates of Bishop Lucey Park, Cork

NASC Ireland will be organising a walk to raise awareness of those fleeing persecution and seeking security to mark World Refugee Day 2016.

Each participant is asked to bring a pair of old shoes to carry on this walk to symbolise the journey of individuals seeking safety, giving us a small chance to ‘Walk in their Shoes’, however temporarily. These shoes will be placed at the gates of Bishop Lacey Park to raise awareness of the refugee journey with the general public.

After the walk, there will be a moment of silence and an invited speaker will share their story of their journey to safety.
