Immigrant Council of Ireland: Communications and Advocacy Manager – deadline 23 September 2016

Independent human rights organisation, the Immigrant Council of Ireland (ICI), is hiring a dynamic new Communications and Advocacy Manager to oversee the implementation of their communications and advocacy strategy, aiming to meet the organisation’s objectives of influencing government policy in relation to the national legislative and policy immigration framework.

The successful candidate will report to ICI’s CEO, in endeavouring to develop the work of the organisation, creating awareness and building a political will for change. The job will entail relating with media outlets in seeking to increase coverage on issues related to immigration and integration, from a clear human rights perspective.

ICI is the leading advocate voice for securing rights and civil protections for Irish citizens, migrants and their families. Based in the organisation’s office in Dublin, this full-time, permanent position will play a strategic role in supporting the NGO in furthering its defined objectives.

Applicants should hold a third level qualification in a relevant discipline and have a minimum of five years’ experience in a communications role, particularly in advocacy and/or policy development and experiential knowledge of developing media campaigns.
