Liberty: Locum Legal Practitioner – deadline 16 November

Liberty is one of the most well-known campaigning organisations in the UK and its success depends on the talent and commitment of their staff, and the support of many dedicated volunteers. Liberty is looking for an enthusiastic campaigning lawyer to join their legal team in a Locum capacity.

The role involves being responsible for running test case litigation, conducting interventions, and providing specialist human rights advice.  The legal officer would play an active role in Liberty's campaigns by writing articles, representing the organisation at events and acting as a media spokesperson.

Applicants should have qualification as a solicitor or barrister in England or Wales (or potential to qualify as one within short time of being appointed). No minimum PQE is required however, they would be particularly interested to hear from people with expertise in the fields of immigration/public law, privacy or discrimination. Experience of public law/ human rights litigation, working within the legal aid system, and public speaking and/or media work would be beneficial.
