Irish Refugee Council: Intern – deadline 23 February

The Irish Refugee Council’s Information and Referral Service operates a confidential Drop-In Centre in conjunction with Migrant Rights Centre Ireland, three times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as an outreach service to locations around the country where people in the asylum process live. The Information and Referral Service provides help or guidance to people in the asylum system and refugees on a range of issues and operates separately to the IRC’s Independent Law Centre.

There is an opportunity for two interns to work four days (Monday – Thursday) for six months from March 2017 with the Information and Referral Service. Travel and lunch expenses will be paid.

Duties include assisting in providing information and support to asylum seekers and refugees, referring asylum seekers and refugees to specialised agencies and completing and maintaining case files.

Candidates should be committed to the human rights of vulnerable groups, be fluent in English with competence in other languages, especially French and Arabic, an advantage and the ability to work under pressure.

Application is by way of CV and cover letter by Thursday 23 February. Applications should be submitted to claire@irishrefugeecouncil.ie with ‘Casework Internship Application’ in the subject line.
