Irish Penal Reform Trust: Summer and Autumn Internship – deadline 20 April 2018

The Irish Penal Reform Trust (IPRT) is Ireland's leading non-governmental organisation campaigning for the respect of human rights in the penal system, and for imprisonment to be used only as a last resort.

It is now inviting applications for the summer Policy & Advocacy Internship Placement (working 4 days per week June-August), and for two autumn Policy & Advocacy Internship Placements (working September 2018 – January 2019 on a part-time basis of 2.5 - 3 days per week).

Exciting projects it is currently working on include: year 2 of a human rights in prison project Progress in the Penal System (PIPS), and an exciting new project addressing the Over-Representation of Children in Care in the Criminal Justice System.

Interns work as an integral part of the IPRT team, supporting policy, research, advocacy and communications activities. Internships are unpaid, and unfortunately IPRT is not in a position to contribute to interns’ costs of living or travel.

Deadline for Applications is 5pm, 20 April 2018.
