This year’s inaugural conference on Human Rights in Childbirth will take place on Friday, 27 April, from 14.00 - 17.00 at the Mansion House, Dublin. The conference is being organised by MacGeehin Toale Solicitors in partnership with Midwives for Choice.

Speakers include international and Irish experts in childbirth and human rights law and practice and professionals/activists in the field of maternity care:

  • Dr Ruth Fletcher, Senior Lecturer in Medical Law, School of Law, Queen Mary University of London
  • Dr Jo Murphy Lawless, Adjunct Professor, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin, and co-author of a forthcoming book, Untangling the Maternity Care Crisis
  • Dr Krysia Lynch, Chairperson, Association for the Improvement in Maternity Services Ireland
  • Niamh Healy, Cuidiú Irish Childbirth Trust, antenatal educator and co-author of Bump2Babe Consumer Guide to the Maternity Services
