ICCL: Guard Our Rights – 14 September 2018

Date: 14 September 2018

Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm

Venue: Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, 16-22 Green Street, Dublin 7

Could rights-based reform, similar to that implemented by the PSNI after the Good Friday Agreement, bring about real and lasting change within An Garda Síochána?

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties commissioned the former human rights advisor to the Policing Board of Northern Ireland, Alyson Kilpatrick BL, to investigate just this.

On 14 September Ana Liffey's Tony Duffin will launch Alyson’s research and the resulting #GuardOurRights campaign at the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission at 11am.

ICCL will be calling on the government to enact legislation that will put people and their rights at the centre of policing in Ireland.
