Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission: Disability Advisory Committee – deadline 30 October 2018

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission now invites applications for membership of a Disability Advisory Committee which will: assist and advise the Commission on the adequacy and effectiveness of law and practice in Ireland relating to the protection of people with disabilities; and advise the Commission on the fulfilment of its CRPD independent monitoring role.

The Disability Advisory Committee will have 12 members, 3 will be members of the Commission and 9 will be appointed through this public recruitment process.

Disability Advisory Committee members will be appointed for a three-year period from December 2018 – December 2021. During this period, Ireland will produce its first report to the United Nations CRPD Committee on its implementation of the Convention.

Deadline for applications is the 30 October 2018 at 5pm.
