Community Law & Mediation: Part-time Solicitor – deadline 28 May 2019

Community Law & Mediation is recruiting a part time solicitor for its Coolock office.

This is a unique opportunity to practice in public interest and human rights law in one of the leading independent law centres in Ireland.

Community Law & Mediation is an independent, community-based organisation that works to make our communities more just and inclusive by facilitating access to legal services for all.    We do this by providing people in our communities with expert legal, mediation and education services they would not otherwise have access to and in doing so, we address underlying issues of injustice and exclusion while working for real change.  Our legal team has represented clients for over forty years in some of the ground-breaking human rights cases in Ireland.

CLM has specialised in social welfare law over the years and we recognise the fundamental importance of this area of law in addressing underlying issues of injustice and exclusion. We have taken some important social welfare cases and have worked in reforming law and policy in the area, including an annual roundtable on various themes within social welfare law, e.g. children and social welfare, and mental health and social welfare. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a practice in this area.

This position is permanent, subject to funding, and part time, subject to a probation period, with an immediate start. Salary details available upon request.
