National Women’s Council of Ireland: Violence against Women Officer – deadline 16 May 2019

The National Women’s Council of Ireland (NWCI) is the leading national women’s membership organisation seeking equality for women. We represent 180-member groups as well as a wide range of individual members from a diversity of backgrounds, sectors and locations

NWCI is currently recruiting for a Violence against Women Officer to join the team based in Dublin. This is a 4-day post for a contract of 12 months.

The Violence against women (VAW) Officer will promote NWCI’s work on Violence against Women in all its forms in line with its Strategic Plan 2016-20. In particular, the Officer will further develop its VAW work to tackle sexual violence and harassment in third level institutions.

The Officer will build on the work of NWCI to bring about change by clearly articulating a feminist analysis of gender-based violence. The position will involve consultation with women, engagement with the public and policymakers, policy analysis and advocacy work. This role will include event management, policy development, alliance building and substantial communications work.
