Breakthrough Cancer Research are currently looking for a Community and Events Fundraiser to join their small yet dynamic growing team. 

Salary:  €35,000 - €40,000, depending on experience 

Type:  An initial 1-year contract – with a view to extension as part of the long-term strategic plan 

Location:  Breakthrough Cancer Research's head office is in Cork City – Glenlee, Western Rd, Mardyke, Cork, T12 F9XD

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Breakthrough Cancer Research are currently looking for a Community and Events Fundraiser to join their small yet dynamic growing team.  This role will be based in their head office in Cork and will report directly to the Fundraising Manager. 

Community and events fundraising is a vital part of how funds are raised for Breakthrough Cancer Research. Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the successful candidate will recruit, coordinate, and oversee community volunteer fundraising throughout their national flag day collections and a variety of both in-person and virtual events such as marathons, mini-marathons, sponsored cycles, hikes as well as ad hoc events and fundraisers organised in the community. 

 

The successful candidate will work closely with the Fundraising Manager to: 

  • Coordinate volunteers, permits, collection materials, etc. for National Flag Days collections. 

  • Recruit and coordinate fundraisers for a calendar of existing community challenges and events such as the Camino, marathons, mini-marathons, cycles, and triathlons. 

  • With charity committees, plan and execute signature events such as gala balls, charity lunches and golf classics.  

  • Lead and moderate their Virtual Challenge Groups on platforms such as Facebook. 

 

Working with the Corporate and Fundraising Manager, you will support the corporate fundraising efforts, particularly in the coordination of staff-led events and internal fundraisers.
