 “Technology and the Rule of Law”: Join us on the 12th Feb 2024 in TUS Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland for this exciting event focusing on the impact of digital technologies on the rule of law, focussing on regulation and access to justice, as well as a deep dive into third level LawTech curricula in the afternoon. This ‘Lawtech’ or legal technology is changing the face of legal practice and academia. This conference aims to create a platform for legal academics, practitioners, students and the public to exchange perspectives on the challenges and benefits of digital technology in the legal regulation and justice. This event brings together expert speakers from industry, the judiciary and academia to discuss the implications of digital technologies like Blockchain and AI (artificial intelligence) for the rule of law. The rule of law refers to the integrity of the justice system and effectiveness of laws and regulation.

This conference will be of interest to academics, practitioners law students, anyone thinking about a legal career or interested in how law practice is changing.

Afternoon workshops will provide educators with a chance to engage in creative dialogue on how law curricula should respond to the changing landscape, and a discussion group on AI and Legal Education.
