Irish Rule of Law International: Executive Director – deadline Wednesday March 6th @12pm

Salary:  €65,000 - €80,000

Type: Full-time, permanent.

Location: The role will be based at IRLI’s office at The Distillery Building, 145-151 Church Street, Dublin 7 with options for hybrid working – approximately 2 days per week in the office.

ABOUT IRISH RULE OF LAW INTERNATIONAL

Irish Rule of Law International (“IRLI”) is a project-orientated, non-profit rule of law initiative established IN 2007. IRLI is dedicated to promoting the rule of law and human rights and has access to justice projects in Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi, and South Africa.

IRLI serves as the charitable arm of the legal professions in Ireland and Northern Ireland, fostering collaboration between legal professionals and stakeholders in the project countries.

ABOUT THE ROLE

IRLI is now seeking an experienced, ambitious Executive Director to lead its team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the strategic direction of the organisation.

The Executive Director will oversee the effective implementation of the organisation's current 5-year strategic plan, focusing on expanding its rule of law projects in Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi, and South Africa.

Additionally, the Executive Director will provide leadership in overseeing the finance, administrative, and human resources functions of the organisation.

To take on this important role, the organisation is seeking a candidate with a legal, rule of law and/or justice reform background.

A legal qualification is not essential but given that the majority of IRLI’s programme work relates to criminal law and access to justice, a strong understanding of issues in these areas would be highly desirable.

Senior management experience in the not-for-profit sector, particularly in international development, would be truly relevant.

A background working abroad on justice reform issues, particularly through project activities, would also be particularly useful. Similarly, an understanding of corporate governance and its importance within the non-profit sector would be key.

If you are an ambitious, diplomatic senior manager with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills whose ethics and values align with the work of IRLI, we would love to hear from you!
