Title: Risk & Compliance Manager
Reports to: Head of Legal & Compliance  
Contract type: Permanent 
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm
Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin office) working
                 Office attendance days are Wednesday & Thursday 
Salary: €62,000 per annum

You will play a key role in supporting the Irish Cancer Society to have the highest standards in governance through having a robust risk management framework, a strong compliance culture and ensuring the Society complies with its regulatory and legislative responsibilities.

General

  • Provide support to the Head of Legal and Compliance on ad-hoc company secretarial matters, data protection and other areas as required.
  • Contribute to a culture of ‘constant improvement’ in risk and compliance with specific focus on process, audits, controls and systems.
  • Assist the Head of Legal and Compliance in reporting to senior management and the Audit & Risk Committee on risk, compliance and internal audit matters.

Work collaboratively and flexibly as part of the overall Legal & Compliance team.

  • You are an excellent communicator who is experienced working across teams and at all levels in an organisation. 
  • You are experienced in building trusted relationships and maintaining confidentiality. 
  • You have an analytical and systematic approach to projects and issues.  
  • You have a high attention to detail and strong research skills.
  • Have the ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment across concurrent projects with multiple deadlines.
  • Tech savvy, with a high level of computer skills across the Microsoft Office suite.

Your qualifications and experience 

  • Typically, at least 3+ years’ experience working in a risk management and/or compliance function, in an organisation. 
  • Minimum of a Bachelors level degree, with demonstration of continual learning and development in areas relevant to this role.
  • Recognised qualification in risk, audit or compliance, is desirable.
  • Experience in charity law or regulation an advantage.
