Over a twelve-year period, the Child Law Project has provided information to the public on the operation of the child care system in the courts with the aim of promoting transparency and accountability, while protecting the anonymity of the children and their families. It has published approximately 1,050 individual court reports and a number of analytical research reports, all of which are available on its website, www.childlawproject.ie. The Project ensures the anonymity of the families concerned by adherence to its Protocol, which is also available on its website.
Due to some reporters being no longer available the Child Law Project is seeking to recruit between three and five practising barristers to join its panel of reporters.
Those interested must be available for a minimum of two days a month and to travel outside Dublin or any major city where they may be based. They must have an interest in public and/or child care law and a demonstrable ability to write for a non-legal audience. Journalistic experience would be a distinct advantage.
Applications, along with a CV and a sample of published writing, should be sent to info@childlawproject.ie before 12th July 2025.
