Polio Survivors Ireland: Advocacy & Research Officer – deadline Friday 2nd October

Polio Survivors Ireland is seeking to appoint an Advocacy & Policy Officer to continue and further develop an established programme of advocacy, policy engagement, and research on behalf of polio survivors in Ireland.

This is a key role within the organisation, building on an existing body of work and contributing directly to the delivery of our 2024–2029 Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will play a central role in influencing policy, improving services, and ensuring the voices of polio survivors are represented at national level.

Key Areas of Work

• Enhancing existing policy and advocacy work on issues affecting polio survivors 
• Monitoring and analysing relevant legislation, policy, and service developments 
• Conducting and commissioning research and gathering evidence from survivors, families, and clinicians 
• Developing policy submissions for approval by the CEO and Board 
• Engaging with Government, statutory bodies, and elected representatives 
• Working with disability and civil society organisations on shared advocacy goals 
• Supporting ongoing campaigns to improve services and quality of life 
• Reporting regularly to the CEO and Board on progress and outcomes 

This is not a new or start-up function, but a continuation and strengthening of an existing advocacy programme within the organisation. The role requires flexibility, collaboration, and the ability to manage a diverse and evolving workload.

This is a hybrid working part-time position of 18.5 Hours and offers a salary of €23,000.
