The Law Society of Ireland Certificate in Human Rights - April 2012

The Law Society of Ireland Certificate in Human Rights will commence on Saturday, 28 April 2012. The course will run over a three-month period culminating in a written assessment to be submitted by 27 July 2012.

The course delivery will be by means of blended learning, combining best practice in both online and onsite learning. The delivery method will be of particular interest to those who cannot easily travel to Dublin on a weekly basis. Course materials will be released online each Thursday via the diploma website, known as Moodle. These include webcast lectures. There are two additional onsite sessions which will take place on Saturday, 12 May and Saturday 23 June.

This course aims to introduce participants to the international, regional and national human rights framework. It will also provide practical guidance on enforcing human rights in the legal arena. The overall objective is to encourage participants to develop skills necessary for pursuing human rights based arguments including practice and procedure, using human rights legal databases and issue identification.

The fee for the course is €1,160 (a supplement fee is applied to non-lawyer applications).
