Citizens Information Phone Service: Information Officer – deadline 28 October

Citizens Information Phone Service (CIPS) is a national organisation, based in Cork.  It provides information (primarily by telephone) directly to the public from 9am to 8pm, Monday to Friday.

CIPS wishes to recruit a full-time Information Officer (specified purpose contract).

The primary role of the Information Officer is to provide information and advice to members of the public, primarily via the phone in a call centre environment as to their civil and social rights and entitlements. Additionally, the Information Officer will assist the management team as appropriate in the work of CIPS and the development of its services.

Applicants should, have a third-level qualification, education/training in an area related to social/civil rights and entitlements, as well as a working knowledge and understanding of how the social welfare and employment systems operate in general and a working knowledge of at least one of the following subject areas: housing, health consumer rights, education and tax.
