Transparency Legal Advice Centre: Seeking expressions of interest for Board for Directors

Transparency Legal Advice Centre (TLAC) is Ireland's only not-for-profit, independent law centre specialising in providing free legal advice to anyone who wishes to disclose wrongdoing, particularly under the Protected Disclosures Act 2014. TLAC is regulated by the Law Society of Ireland and the Charities Regulator (CHY 21331) and is a company limited by guarantee without share capital. Further information can be obtained on the following website: https://transparency.ie/helpline/TLAC

TLAC’s clients are referred through the Speak Up helpline, a service launched by Transparency International Ireland to provide support to witnesses, whistleblowers and victims of corruption and other wrongdoing. The law centre was established by TI Ireland in 2015 to ensure that helpline callers could avail of free legal advice. Where a Speak Up caller has a need for legal advice, TLAC’s Managing Solicitor assesses whether their case falls within TLAC’s practice area and offers an appointment as appropriate.

The Managing Solicitor oversees the day-to-day running of TLAC, but seeks prior approval from the Board of Directors in respect of significant or material financial, legal, tax, corporate governance or company structural matters.

Expressions of interest are now being sought from persons available for at least one calendar year to serve on the board as either a Director or Company Secretary and who have professional qualifications and experience in HR, Legal and Finance.

Applications for this opportunity can be made by email to Judy O’Loan at joloan@transparencylegal.ie Please send an up-to-date CV along with a cover letter outlining your suitability and qualifications for the role.
