Legal Aid Board: Family Mediator

Family Mediator

The Legal Aid Board is an independent, publicly funded organisation which provides family mediation, civil legal aid & advice and vulnerable witness related services. We are also responsible for the administration of a number of ad hoc legal aid schemes.

Family mediation services are provided free of charge from 16 locations, a number of which are co-located or in the process of being co-located with law centres.

We currently have a number of vacancies in the following locations:

Athlone/Mullingar, Castlebar, Dublin, Dundalk, Kilkenny, Letterkenny, Sligo, and Waterford.

A Panel will be established from which we may fill temporary and permanent positions in the 12 months following the Panel’s establishment.

The salary for mediators ranges from €33,149 to €64,429 via 15 annual increments (which are subject to satisfactory service). Two long service increments, payable after a further 3 and 6 years, bring the salary scale to €66,615 and €68,795.

Where the position is part time, this is paid on a pro rata basis.

The Board offers extensive opportunities for further training and there are opportunities to advance to other positions within the Board.
