Senior Legal Advisor in the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) is an independent statutory body with a remit to directly and independently investigate complaints against members of the Garda Síochána and ensure that they are examined in a way that is both transparent and equitable, and increases public confidence in police oversight. 

About the role

The Senior Legal Advisor role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a unique and challenging environment, dealing with a wide variety of legal work in relation to the provision of legal advice and services to GSOC. They will contribute to GSOC’s oversight of members of the Garda Síochána and help shape new ways of working to improve the delivery of services under a new operational model for dealing with complaints of Garda misconduct arising from upcoming legislative change.

Candidates will be expected to act ethically and in accordance with the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and fairness at all times in keeping with GSOC’s core values.

Successful candidates will be based in GSOC headquarters at 150 Upper Abbey Street, Dublin 1.
