Immigrant Council of Ireland seeks Communications Assistant Intern - deadline 5 August 2011

The Immigrant Council of Ireland (ICI) is inviting applications for a Communications Assistant intern to work in their communications department. This is a six-month, full-time unpaid position, although travel and other expenses will be reimbursed.

Job Description - key areas of responsibility:

- To assist in the implementation of the ICI's media strategy

- To collate and edit items for the ICI News Bulletin

- To assist in the co-ordination of ICI campaigns

- To participate in information management

- To assist in managing the ICI website

- To undertake administrative duties

Person Specification:

- An appropriate third level qualification or equivalent experience.

- Communications experience

- Administrative experience

- Familiarity with the current debates on immigration.

- Understanding of the wider equality agenda.

- Understanding of and a commitment to the promotion of equal opportunities and cultural diversity.

- Excellent oral and written communications skills are crucial.
