This course is aimed at advisers who have experience in providing representation at social security appeal tribunals who wish to build on their experience and knowledge and be able to identify errors of law in tribunal decisions.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to understand and identify the key errors of law made in social security decisions and understand procedures in appealing to the Social Security Commissioner as well as other routes to appeal the decision of the Social Security Appeal Tribunals.  The day will include practical case studies.

The course is linked to Legal Advice National Occupational Standard IB20 – Welfare Rights Legal Advice and Casework.
