About LAB:

The Legal Aid Board is an independent, publicly funded organisation which provides family mediation, civil legal aid & advice and vulnerable witness related services.  They are also responsible for the administration of a number of ad hoc legal aid schemes. 

About the role:

Family mediation services are provided free of charge from 16 locations, a number of which are co-located or in the process of being co-located with law centres. 

They currently have a vacancy in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, however, a nationwide Panel will be established from which they may fill temporary and permanent positions in the 12 months following the Panel’s establishment.

The Board offers extensive opportunities for further training and there are opportunities to advance to other positions within the Board.

Salary:

The salary for Mediators ranges from €32,321 to €63,159 via 15 annual increments (which are subject to satisfactory service). Two long service increments, payable after a further 3 and 6 years, bring the salary scale to €65,302) and €67,440. Where the position is part time, this is paid on a pro rata basis.
